So I did the trimming after a few weeks and I noticed a large difference in the overall thickness of the plants, but I noticed you lose a lot of light too because the tops of most plants just stem out like crazy, I guess with the larger root base haha. So conclusion? I think it's okay for a few times but to keep light hitting the ground plants. You need to pull out and replant new stems.
