I don't even use my siphon set anymore, I prefer to just scoop the water out with a half gallon pitcher then dump it into 6 gallon buckets. Scooping allows me to catch all the floaters and plant clippings, is quicker than the siphon, and I never have to taste tank water. However with a very large 100+ gallon tank I'd likely go another route for water changes.
