I think what you have now is potentially a fantastic super substrate and potentially a dangerous breeding ground for the new black plague. Sterile can be good... organic can be good...Who knows?!? I believe there is such a thing as too much dissolved organic matter in the water column, which you may be getting, but in the substrate...It's an interesting question for sure.
