Interesting Question that I would like to know as well. It seems to me that having small bodies of water be they deep or shallow would be a natural occurrence in their native habitat, the amazon, there are plenty of pools and riverlettes all over the place. In fact the whole of the amazon is flooded for several months during the springs floods if I'm not mistaken.
