Eh I wouldn't prefer it. Especially with higher cost shrimp that need soft water. You just never know what amount to put would be the right amount. Also I would use a commercial remineralizer as they also include all the minerals a shrimp would need.
Cheap neos, go for it....might as well.
Expensive stuff.....well since I spend a lot on those shrimp I might as well take the extra step of insuring their livelihood
