it's possible but one or two types wont be happy with the environment. Likely wont breed but will survive... Caridinas, assuming crystals, and Sulawesi, also caridinas of another genus, live in completely different environments natively.

I find variety within species of interest as it helps to identify specific ones by color banding/ grading, etc... So having multiple species isn't necessarily the only route to having a diversified tank colony.
