This is like the 10th thread on the show. lol.

It's a reality show, things are condensed to fit time. Who wants to watch a show for 2 months with them showing nothing but the tank cycling for 2 months. This weeks episode, we test ammonia and nitrite and watch the tank for the next 45mins. The chopper guys don't build a bike in 3, 1hr sessions, its weeks or more that's condensed down to make it dramatic if they are going to fit the timeline, show some tension, show some fun and make a tv show that makes them money.

I can understand the fake coral thing, they don't want to encourage wild harvesting of corals and also, although I've never kept SW, I think some of htem need to be spot fed, and kept really good care of. They tanks are setup to be easy to feed once a day for the fish and these places also pay big maintenance fees for companies to come out and change the water, test everything, clean algae, etc.
