Thank you for the welcome! The CO2 diffuser I bought is just a simple little glass diffuser that you stick on the side of the tank (Ive seen a couple of people on youtube use it with the exact DIY setup I have, a one gallon milk judge with one teaspoon of yeast and 2 cups sugar). I have heard that the wpg is dated and useless but have also seen people on youtube use and discuss the exact same light source I have in larger tanks with good results. They go by PAR, but I am unsure on how this is calculated especially with the CFL bulbs I use. The substrate I am currently using is "Eco-complete" it has some stuff added like magnisium, potasium, and iron (a complete beginner move on my part im sure but at the time I was just starting into the planted tank world). It supposedly has active bacteria and is "mineralogically" complete right out of the bag. Im checking out the site you advised now but will need much more time to go through it thoroughly. With the lighting setup I have would it be of no use to add CO2? Even if I did add the mentioned fertz? Thanks so much for the info youve given me. Its good to see someone who really knows what they are doing helping me out.
