I got a new 10G to use as a QT for Christmas ... thinking I can turn it into an NPT, used for new critters to be added to my 40G, and to house an extra school of 7 tetras to keep it cycled when not housing new entrants.
It comes with a fixture with terrible reflectors that can hold 2 15 W bulbs. Here is a pic:
Is that lighting sufficient to light the 10 gallon glass box (20" long x 10" depth x 12" height) well enough for a dirt-substrate NPT? I would try and get 13-15 W CFLs in the 6500K Spectrum (the lights shown in pic aren't 6500k).
