Strangely my my single stage victor medalist quit on me, either the diaphram broke or it got clogged so my working pressure was essentially the tank pressure, broke my gauge and everything. I'm going to try to open it up and see what happened. Either way it is nice to not to have to worry about varying pressures (I did witness the pressure drop after my tank ran low last time, not sure if it was because of the regulator crapping out or not though)
I recently had the same problem with my victor 453, and i had the reg rebuilt...when they rebuilt it, it needed a comlete rebuild...im glad i got it done, but if you feel comfortable pluging it up, by all means do it....i have no worries about an issue arising with mine...maybe i just bought peace of mind....just my .02...
