OK so I finally figured out how to get 'the chopstick' diffuser to work. You're not supposed to put the whole bamboo chopstick in the tank LOL. Just stuff it as far in the tube as possible and cut off all but a 1/4" stub. Works great compared to an air stone. Bubbles fly out of the end and quickly rise about 12" and then shrink to almost mist size and slow way down and drift around on the currents. That's a good sign that the CO2 is being efficiently dissolved. Don't need to inject the stream into the pump intake and possibly chew on the impeller. Another benny is that my off the 7.6 scale pH is now 6.6. I must have added half the 'lower pH adjusting solution' in the bottle to no avail. Fish look and act great. Need some ferts for dosing now. I'm going with dry ferts & some decent substrate tabs.
