I guess it makes sense that there would be some co2 built up in the line when the system is shut off, but yeah, who knew it would diffuse that long after being turned off. Thanks for the HC tip by the way. I'm glad I didn't dry start it. Intrepidaquarist, I think that the archaea clip light will work great on your mini l. I'll post some new photos of the tank soon. I've got a solenoid coming in the mail and just made a diy bubble counter using a dosing syringe, check valve, and wetsuit glue. Here's a photo of that DIY project:
