Default Algae on anubias

I have a black algae on my anubias. I don't think it's bba; it's smoother, like diatoms, but harder to rub off. Anyway, I'm wondering if there's any bath I could give them to kill the algae.

I realize the goal is to solve the underlying issue, which is probably having them in an exposed position where they get too much light, but I'd like a quicker fix in the short term.

Out of curiosity, has anyone been able to grow anubias for an extended period (>year) without dealing with substantial algae issues beyond picking off the occasional leaf? It seems that would be the proof of someone who really has their stuff together.

Thanks.
