That's true, most of the "shark" fish will eat algae, at least when they are young. In fact, they are closely related to the SAE...and actually come with all of the downsides of the SAE. They get big and need groups of at the very minimum 3, but more like 5.
I would say they are more attractive fish and slightly more fun to watch, though.
