well, we are going to find out if I need C02 lol because I came home from the LFS with an AquaticLife 36" 2 bulb T5 HO (78w) with two Hagen T5HO powerglo 18,000k bulbs (I swapped out the bulbs that came with the Aquaticlife becuase I have always like the look of the powerglo T5HO's. I know many people grow plants very well with powerglos because they have the right peaks in the spectrum.

I bought one of those crappy jungle fizz tabs c02 setups, I know they aren't that great but if I use a few tabs per week it will probably help lol.

thanks for the nice comments. my tank is nothing fancy - just plain old Estes black special gravel. no eco complete or anything..

I just dose with seachem Flourish once per week (two capfuls) and thats it.

the new powerglos look really good. pics coming soon.

I think the important thing with growing Val is you need to get good val to begin with. most of the time I see it in the LFS's the tops are already melting...
