The last of my three indoor/outdoor cats turns 15 in a few weeks. He certainly gets clean water when he drinks out of the dog's bowl when he's indoors (except for the dog slobber in there) when the...

I bought a few 29G Tetra tanks from Petco at $1 a gallon sale. I didn't measure, but I bet it's right around 1/4". Really ticked me off since I cut glass tops for them based on the distance at the...

I think I know what you mean about the crack. My 90G was cracked right where the cross brace meets the long front rail. I "fashioned" a T out of a scrap of clear acrylic and simply crazy glued it in...

Newer 55G's have a center brace for a reason: They are made from thinner glass. That makes the glass cheaper and the tank lighter to ship. But it makes the brace an integral part of the tank's...

When I was in SW, I used it to build custom-sized sumps as big as 60G. Honestly, I wouldn't use Momentive here, if this was my build. Even with the "free" glass, you'll be close to $200 into this by...

Just double check the thickness of those panels. If it actually is 3/8", it may not have had a center brace. Newer 55G's are 1/4" but the tops trim has a center brace.

I think it needs to be clarified that it's the bottom that's tempered.

Knowing the manufacturer would help. There were a handful of experiences with 55G's that were 100% tempered some years ago,...
