I have a medium light co2 injected tank with val nana, wisteria, and floating plants that is well stocked and the fish eat enough that I don't really add any nutrients or change the water very often....

I have used excel several times on a 3 gallon crs tank to kill bba, and they just kept on breeding. In my experimenting it doesn't seem to bother them.

Put some clown loaches in there and don't feed them. Dwarf puffers should get the shrimp, if the discus didn't eat the puffers, which mine didn't.
