Noooo @ Sbarbee. lol My giant, greedy Amanos would step on the babies while they were chasing food. That's the only harm they ever did, which was just a nuisance.

No CO2, just a bit of Excel every 2-3 days. The HC is really starting to take off. There are a lot of tiny plantlets just under the pebbles. The shrimp like to nibble on it too so now I feed them...

If you don't use the air pump, you don't get air bubbles. That piece on the end comes off and you connect the straight tube directly to the water pump.

It sure can but I opened it and put a sponge filter in the empty space so it's shrimp-safe. I just rinsed it yesterday actually. It was yucky but no shrimp were in it. :)

Cut and drop??? I don't know any expert who recommends that. If they were kept at a neutral pH and you "cut and dropped" them into 7.8 water, they will die. I'm no expert, but it's just true.
