Its a powder and real cheap works great for Ammonia. also 5 pounds of powder treats around 100k gallons or something crazy..

I use a Sera liquid kit the results are accurate. If you wondering if you can trust the strips get a liquid kit to. i use the strips for spot checks and liquid for issues(illness etc.) and full on...
