Still Getting By....

As I noted a couple years back, I transistioned this tank to low (and I mean LOW) maintenance. The expanding family "forced" me to dial back my green obsession into something manageable. These...

As an example: Here's the tank over a month later. ...

Just imagine the growth rates if even 20% of the carbon in a 5lb tank went into biomass. Ever see a pound of dry weight aquatic plants? :)

Anyone who thinks pressurized CO2 levels are primarily...

I'll ditto Mott's comments. The HOT Mag is a fine item to keep handy for water polishing (new tank setups). But, as a permanent filter, it is very lacking. Get the 2215. It is the proper tool for...

Tom, sorry for the delayed response - my family grew by one April 2, and that made me a bit busy for the past two weeks. :)

Great insight! I had not considered how emergent growth would create...

Hiya, guys. I went a.w.o.l. for a bit there.

The tank chugs along. But, there are a couple observations to share.

First, the questions re: the lily pipes. Yes. They are custom made by a...

Wonderful mid-size tank! I'd like to see a bit more growing in, but I'm partial to "jungles" ;). I am always jealous of the fish you acquire. Way to take advantage of your location :proud:.
