If your over the side filter breaks the water...
If your over the side filter breaks the water surface then you will not need a bubble wall. I would not invest in fertilizers, but thats just my opinion. I would try the light, if it doesn't work...

I would not use Excel. It's hard if not impossible to maintain the right levels of fertilizer in the tank for over a long period of time, with terrible effects if you don't. its way easier to just...
