I have an 80 gal. with 2 rena xp3. I use ceramic media in the middle, filter pads in the bottom, and plastic scrubber pads in the top. And fine filter floss above that. Works great!

I like to hold the vacuum siphon hose above he moss as I give it a haircut. This way the trimmings get pulled out as they are cut.

Mine does it as well, if I trim it close to the substrate, it starts sideshoots that just continue outward as new plants shoot up. My light isn't high either at 1.4WPG.

I use stainless screws and bolt pieces of slate to the bottom of my DW. Then it sinks right away! My wife says they call it DRIFTWOOD for a reason.
