The only drawback I can see using those hose fittings is that the narrow male connector opening is small, smaller than the inside diameter of a 5/8 hose... wouldn't that reduce flow rate?

these quick disconnects ok to use?

I found these quick disconnects to use on my Eheim 2028 and Reactor 1000 setup... will these be ok to use? I want to be able to easily disconnect the Reactor when it needs to be cleaned of biogunk....

Here is the latest after about 1 year... I had it planted, replanted, etc. and then it got crazy with corkscrew Vals and I neglected the tank. I cleared out the mess last weekend and here it is...

I went to Petco and picked up a bottle of Kordon's Prevent-Ich. It's 100% organic and won't hurt scaleless fish (loaches), invertabretes, etc. I hope it works.
