Sorry for your loss. A tank death can be devastating! Maybe you should consider getting a high quality two stage under sink carbon filter and fill from there. This should absorb all the chlorine.

Why not treat the whole tank with kanaplex? I think that would be th ebest way to ensure you have eradicated that nasty bacteria.

Seems like a lot of people are getting hit by this disease lately....

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will start turning off CO2 prior to and while adding new fish. Then slowly up the CO2 to acclimate them. I hope my experience can help others!
