In my experience, there's three main keys that keep the red plant stay with more red:
CO2, Iron (Fe), and lighting. With lighting, using color bulbs (pink/purple/hue) help with color.

Look into stainless steel mesh prefilter guard...

Look into stainless steel mesh prefilter guard for your filter intake. It won't get clogged easily and no worry about baby fish or shrimps got sucked.

Many experts keep CRS in low tech low light plants with no CO2. If you'd like to go with CO2 for better plants grow...go slow. Bee shrimps can be survive with CO2 but their breeding in that condition...
