are you sure it's a micro crab? I just never saw one at a LFS. fiddlers and red claws all the time but never micro crabs. it's a nice find.

I think Thai micro crabs should be fine like that, I never had problems with them climbing when I kept them. I'd imagine they'd like the exposed roots too.
