I've never seen a shrimp berry up from a saddle. That's a really great capture.

Not sure if it's getting rid of all the eggs or accidentally dropping some eggs transferring them into here...

Read that it breaks down pretty easy after a while. Seems like a finer clay substrate. I've written it off from reading other peoples experiences since I do quite a bit of substrate cleaning.

I don't think they are amano. Amanos don't breed in freshwater ponds, brackish is the way to go with breeding Amanos. The young develop from a larval stage.

For some reason I had the impression that in the wild there would be tons of shrimp. They seem pretty spaced out and I don't see shirmplets around.

not a good idea to keep shrimp with fish. i suggest you go with a dedicated shrimp tank.

Extra calcium is usually not necessary for shrimp.
