I agree anytime should be fine. I tend to dose in the morning cause i put Seachem Excel in and the plants absorb co2 during photosynthesis so i just do it all at once.

50g Plant Build

Started my 50 g build first try at a planted tank. Dimensions are 48x13x18. Decided to go the dirted tank way with about 20 lbs of substrate on top and then capped with gravel.

Watts or K?

Should i be more concerned with watts or K. If i need about 100-200 Watts for a tank should i try to stick by that or worry about about getting 10000k and 6700k?

Have a tank 48"Lx18"Tx13"D and i am having trouble finding a light that isnt too powerful. The system i have now has 2 150w metal halides and i believe that is too much. Any advice or recommendations...

Do i have too much lighting?

I have 2 150watt metal halide bulbs for a 50 gallon tank that used to be a reef tank. My question is, is this too much lighting for a planted aquarium or the fish that will be in it?
