Nice! Prob not a coincidence as a lot of fish spawn when a low-pressure system (like a rain shower or t-storm) moves through. People trying to breed fish will often do water changes with cooler...

Frogbit and hornwort are great, easy, fast spreading floaters. For a true surface floater, go with frogbit. Root structure looks really nice as they mature & if roots get too long, just pinch them...
