Why do you care what the kelvin temp of a bulb is? The plants dont care as long as the light source has emissions in the red and blue regions of the visible spectrum as these are most efficiently...

That would only add magnesium.
The water is quite soft: 7 to 14ppm GH (depending on time of year) and < 1 dKH so I'm not getting much minerals from watering.

I've been using one for 9 years on my 75....

I've been using one for 9 years on my 75. Threaded one one end into the regulator and the 'bulb' type connector on the other where the connector nut is a female type to go onto the male type...

Question about my MA957 Regulator

I just got a Milwaukee MA957 CO2 Regulator for my 10 gal shrimp tank. I dont like the nylon washer and brass 'connector configuation. It seems as if none of the perma-seals will work with the MA957....

36 watts CF 6500K, 12 hrs per day w/ 15w, 8000K AGA strip light at side of tank along HC.

The pH has been pretty much around 7.0

I add calcium and magnesium sulfate as my tap water is very soft.

I took the (temporary) fish out today.
I was using an established filter on a new tank setup but maybe there is a cycling issue going on.

I just started a shrimp tank and am using zebra rock. LFS said it was safe and I also did acid test with Seachems acid buffer>>> No fizz. BUT something is sending pH up.

RCS and MTS

I am setting up my 10 gallon RCS tank. It will has Flourite black sand for substrate. Should I put in some Malaysian Trumpet Snails? Are they OK with the shrimp?
