I don't agree with that. I think it does look like a Cyperus and Tinanti is usually pretty good at identifying these plants and has more than enough experience. It's possible it's Cyperus esculentus.

Yeah $15 is pretty steep. Have you checked out Wet Spot Tropical Fish. You can get quite a few different Nannostomus species, 10 of them for $18 or 10 for $25 depending on which species.
