If they are pinhead size little critters likely they are copepods and harmless. Cutting back on the chow will lower their numbers over time.

OK I voted safe, but mine will hunt down young sometimes. The tank is heavily planted and there have been RCS happily living and reproducing with Neons, Glowlights, and Fancy Guppies for 3 years.......

In a well matured tank bio film will breakdown "eat" fish poop and in turn your shrimp will graze on the bio film, but as stated above they do not feed on feces itself.

Go to your local Petco or petsmart and get a foam filter replacement sponge for an Zoomed 501 filter. Usually in the turtle dept and they will slide right onto your intake.

This is a small cabin on my property. Room is temp controlled at 72 degrees at all times so I only need heaters in the Sulawesi Shrimp tanks for the most part.
