I always think that when people say you need good CO2, this also is with the understanding that you have enough plant biomass.

The answer to your question is: Yes. I do and have been keeping my PRL's in a heavily planted CO2 enriched tank under light approx 80-90 PAR. They have bred and been living for over a year now....

Dude, that is going to be a pain to remove. I say ditch the java moss and buy some new stuff thats clean. Or black your tank out. Shrimp wont like algaefix though that will work as well.

Trimming Ludwigia couldn't be easier. Just cut where you want and replant the tops. They will root in a week or so. The plant is fully capable of living off water column fertilization.

Overdose on CO2. Ha, that's pretty hard to do since you'd notice your fish suffering. Plus remember that the flux of CO2 exiting the surface of the tank increases as the concentration in the water...

I know in some videos I've seen like the making of Natures Chaos by James Findley, he uses substrate supports which are just flexible sheets of plastic or something. Maybe give those a look.

To easily remove it from glass, i use a razer blade and always go top to bottom, not side to side. Never once have I scratched my tank. Just be careful about it.
