Why don't u get one of the doaqua blue step solutions? There is one for acid living plants. It will act as the required buffer until u get the RO figured out.

Yes. I see a disco ball effect with the lights. Especially with all at full. U can notice it in shadows and on the wall behind my tank. Light intensity wise...I have it at 90%...and Venus fly traps...

If you want red plants... You might not be too happy with planted plus. I think the BML had the necessary additional wavelengths for good overall color in plants.
