Sounds like detritus worms. Do they look like tiny water snakes the way they swim? Then they are detritus worms. Planaria don't really swim. They crawl over décor and walls and float on the surface...

That is exactly what I do too. Remove the bodies but leave the molts. Bodies generally turn pinkish/red so a clear one would be a molt.
