It's definitely not a snail. It's free swimming. I've seen crawling, climbing, surfing and falling snails, never one that darts around in the water column.

I was pretty sure nothing would stop them from breeding, lol. It just seems that a lot of critters do better with regular light cycles, wasn't sure about snails tho.

Thanks! I had already trimmed mine down to 3 node stems, knowing that the emersed leaves would ultimately die. Sounds like it won't be long :-).

Yesterday I purchased a bunch of Wisteria from the LFS. It has definitely been grown emmersed and now I'm wondering how long it will take it to adapt to submersed growth again.

There are a lot of threads on this subject, mostly planted vases/bowls/jars/etc. It is definitely possible, just don't overstock snails at first :-)

I've moved at least 10 times in the last 9 years (college, jobs, etc). 10g's are easy enough to pack up and move or even take home for that 3-4 week winter break . 20Ls are much more of a pain....
