Its all relative. To a 1.5 gallon, I would say no, to a 200 gallon, yes. But generally, I would say on this forum a 10g and under is considered nano.

people do it all the time. Its no different than a normal hi tech tank. Just no aquascape. Sometimes its fun just to experience growing plants without trying to create a new composition.

I think an aquaponics setup would be very cool. you could split a 10g in half and compare the nitrate ammonia and nitrite levels in either side. One with plants and one without.
