I personally love that the center stone is up front and in your face. :) If you look qt the fIrst pIc, Its actualy quite far back....

Not sure if I understand what you're doing exactly but it sounds risky putting wet paint near the water. if the question is, will a single suction cup keep thing in place, more than likely it will....

Wood and plant look great to me. Stones on the right look good. Stones in the center, specifically the 2 resting on each other, look a bit unnatural to me.
