If you're using Flourish Nitrogen, 5ml in 55 gallons is just over 1.5ppm NO3 per dose.

I dose over 10ppm 3x per week in several of my tanks.

Are you looking for a particular growth pattern? Many plants will have different growth patterns when grown emmersed. Many of them will flower and can add great affect.

Where are you located? I can keep several species outdoors overwinter here in TX. It really seems to depend on severity of temperature, actual temp around the plants, and of course, the species....

Emmersed is easy. Keep humidity levels up and then you'll regret trying emmersed.
