Honestly the best thing to do is to play with it....

Honestly the best thing to do is to play with it. What works for someone might not work for you. I would use the t5's all the time and use the MH lights as a noon burst for an hour or two.

yeah with those lights I do, I have to leave the top of it cracked or else it gets to like 82 degrees. I also have a custom sea life pump which are known to raise the water temp a couple of degrees....
