I use a a 2211 on a 5 gallon. Best way to control flow is to adjust by closing the out flow quick connect until your flow is what you want.. But make sure it's the out flow not intake side.

Dwarf sag is pretty easy and hardy... and a lot will say invasive. A word of caution.. A lot of folks find it is not so dwarf. High light is crows compact but in my tank it reaches about 9 inches...
