I find super glue is okay and really very handy for sticking plants like Java fern to things. Tying with thread works but I find it can snag fish so the super glue works for me.

There's also a cheap way to go. Depends on the plant of course, but sometimes it is handy to use super glue to attach them to a small piece of gravel that can hide in the soil.

I did not compare them. I saw that the 5-in-1 did what I wanted and was handy where I normally shop so never got into that brand. I did try some other brand but found the colors harder for me to see...
