this statement is only true if the water is hard and have high PH 7.0+ and Ammonium pose no threat in acidic and low ph.

all methods can cause all kinds of algae, there is no perfect method, it will come down to person who own the tank and how he take care of it....

last time i killed it few times without any...

last time i killed it few times without any medicine was with 1tsp of KNO3 in 20gallon and dosed nothing else, dose this and walk away and dose nothing for next few weeks, plant wont suffer much...

i agree with whoever commented on CEC of the gravel, your plant will benefits from the root tabs. but, i don't see gravel absorbing much of it and it will leach into the water as well, IME it is ok...

been using all in one recipes for few years and no reaction of any kind ever occured and plants always grew great, test kits and plants confirm that po4 and Fe are present in the tank.

the fact is root tabs don't work like the way people think, IME root tabs slowly charge the substrate and leach into the water at very slow rate, the good growth of plants is mostly from the leached...

have you tried adding few pot scrubbers inside the reactor? this will increase the dissolve rate of co2 and make the co2 dissolve better.

what kind of lights are you using and how are you diffusing the co2? you dont have enough plant to uptake enough nutrients in your tank, most of your plants are slow growing and some of them are fast...

this will depend on what kind of Iron you are dosing, DTPA, EDTA, Gluconate etc, if you are dosing Gluconate then you will most likely get 0 on the reading after few minutes.
