I definitely want to scape my tank and use dirt or a more specialized substrate with the existing inert coarse sand as a cap. Just don't know how I'll get it all done quickly enough to not leave...

The tetras have been in the tank for 2 years, the PFRs 1 year, and the OEBTs for two months.

These deaths haven't looked like failed moltings. The OEBT I lost last night looked perfectly normal,...

Yeah we have really hard water here in So Cal, I'm sure you know. For water changes I do a 50/50 mix of RO and tap treated with Prime. I could do 3/4 RO and get TDS down further. The PFRs have been...

Losing shrimp weekly

For the last few weeks I've been losing 1-3 shrimp (PFRs and OEBTs) per week in my medium light, no CO2 20g high tank. I've been trying to find the culprit without much luck so I figured I'd ask.

That's what I was thinking - as long as the valve is working fine and fits my post body I was going to leave it. It does seem strange that the knob doesn't turn at all, is it pressure activated?

CO2 regulator came with manual on/off valve. Ok to leave on?

I got a reg that came with a manual on/off valve w/circular knob, is it ok to leave on? The knob doesn't want to turn in either direction, even with a decent amount of force. To take this valve off...

The pennywort is on the bottom so it's as far away from the light as it can get. I'll look at potassium dosing, and the vals started melting before I added Excel so I don't think that's the issue...

Lots of low light vs. a little med/high light?

I have a mature low-tech 20g high shrimp tank that is moderately planted and am fighting dying plants. I recently added Osmocote capsules to my inert substrate and started dosing Flourish Excel and...

Argh, I put out the extra cash and do CO2 the right way the first time (instead of DIY or paintball), and my reg's crap. There's $70 gone, plus at least another $70 to replace it. What a waste.

When the solenoid is unplugged the second stage gauge gradually rises in pressure until ~100psi (guessing since it is past the 60psi limit of the gauge). When I plug in the solenoid CO2 flows but the...

Yes I siphon water back into the tank using gravity, so the 5 gallon bucket has to be higher than the tank. I don't like the idea of putting 41+ lbs of water on the rim of the tank so I've been using...
