I let him borrow it. The tank and stand I gave to him, but I made it very clear the light wasn't his. I just feel tacky asking for it back so soon after letting him use it.

Hmm.. The only thing is that the damselfy's legs are much longer than this ones. It had short stumpy legs. My dad said it looked like a silverfish bug that fell in the tank or was hiding in there...
