Well, what if they are totally submerssed but maybe by a centimeter? I would think they would have the benefits of increased CO2 and lighting. I'm still debating what I'm going to try.

You should be able to find wisteria or water sprite pretty easily and they are both confidence boosters for someone new to the hobby and might not have the best lighting.
