I was thinking the switch would be 120v and i was confused how that would work safely.

It's no RO because there is no reverse osmosis happening (no wastewater) From what i can tell looking around a bit it is a DI filter.

Not sure about price break down per gallon but you can buy...

Could get a digital scale to set it on and route the display to somewhere easy to see so you can see as the tank gets lighter. Just meassur the tank full and empty and you will know when to replace....

The aggitation equlizes the amount of gasses in the air and the water, so it's not so much that it oxygenates the water. The water usually has les oxygen from the fish and the aggitation brings it up...
