ya I was figuring either sheet metal sheers or a cutting disk on my dremel. Just checking to see what others were using in case they found some off the wall way to do it that work really well.

your plants may just need some time to acclimate to your tank. I would still move your light up and cut it back to 8 hours.

Planting right at the start is what most people do as the plants often have a lot of the good bugs on them so your cycle will go faster.
