Always turn back the valves on the out flow side. Never restrict the flow going into the filter, that will cause damage.

It was likely grown emersed and its just transitioning over to its submerged form. Once some new growth has established you can cut off the dying parts, they will likely just rot away slowly anyways.

Where have you seen ppl run it backwards? It won't dissolve co2 very well, the bubbles would just rise out of the middle pipe and right out the side. The whole point is the gas wants to stay on top...

There's no way your getting enough CO2 like that, get a drop checker for a rough reference and take some ph readings from your tap vs. tank.

Digital timers are crap, they never last more than a couple years if your really lucky and they only don't loose time if the battery isn't dead. Can't argue the noise though, I've always found it...

I'm not sure about that, I have only seen people go on the outside. It's really easy to heat it up till its soft and it'll slip right over.

You can heat a piece of pvc with a torch and it will get soft enough to stretch right over....

I agree, they are slow to change and there is so many variables involved that can make a huge impact on the reading. Get to that full point drop before your lights turn on

You need lots of O2 as well as CO2, you see pearling because the water column is already saturated with O2 and can't dissolve it as fast as the plants are producing it.
