I've never had any of mine do that so I would think they might be sick...? but I could be wrong.
Hopefully your tank is heavily planted with lots of places for them to hide since they are all males...

You can use fishing line as stated above or...
You can use fishing line as stated above or regular sewing thread.
Make sure not to leave gaps because your fish can get caught up or tangled in it and die. I learned that one the hard way.
